Hello Everyone!
This challenge has been very up and down for me. I started off so excited to with this challenge. I really needed help after the Easter break. I had over-indulged and let the bad habits creep back in and I was struggling to get back on track. April was my time! I was focussed and determined and I was saying goodbye to sugar for good.
But like all things in life, it didn’t go to plan.
In the last 2 weeks I have had all 3 children sick with the littlest one (1yr old) hospitalised because she was so sick.
Then in turn I got sick and things started to slip. We should have been moving into our new house but it still isn’t finished (we are building) and I found out a close family member is very sick so I let my emotions rule what I put into my mouth.
But if there is 1 thing that Lose Baby Weight has taught me, it is that we are human and sometimes we stumble. That’s ok. As long as we get back up, dust ourselves off and continue trying.
So I’m not beating myself up or allowing myself to feel guilty. What is done is done. But I can control what my future holds so I am back on track.
I cannot say enough how much the smoothies help me. This week I have had a smoothie every morning for breakfast (if you haven’t tried the Tim Tam smoothie then you really need to get your blender out and give it a go!) and so have my children.
It is such an easy no-fuss breakfast for the whole family and really helps to take the stress out of our crazy morning rush.
Now I’m not silly and I realise that there will be many more bumps in the road ahead.
For one, I have a major headache right now from sugar withdrawals and that is leaving me feeling tired and unmotivated.
But, it is not an excuse for me to make poor food choices anymore.
If anything, the sugar withdrawals just make me more determined to finish this challenge strong because it is proving to me that it is exactly what my body needs right now.
I’m still just as much in love with the food from Lose Baby Weight now as I was when I started too.
With all the running I do, I have come to understand that it is so important to ensure I am fuelling my body adequately to perform at its peak. This month’s challenge recipes have blown me away!
I don’t know the Lose Baby Weight team do it but somehow they deliver the most delicious and nutritious recipes to us every single month.
I know when I am following the challenges that I am following a balanced meal plan that is giving me the fuel I need for my training. I am doing a 25km trail race this weekend and despite the sugar withdrawals, I am feeling great and so ready to tackle this run.
So wherever you are on your journey, don’t be disheartened if you’ve let old habits creep back in too.
I’ve lost 56kg* and it still happens to me from time to time. Life is full of ups and downs so it is bound to happen.
But, if you are in the same position as me then now is the time to jump back on board, refocus, and finish this month strong!
